As promise, here's my take for the recently premiered episode of "Quaranthings: The Series." But before that, for those who haven't watched the first ep of the series, Quaranthings tells a story of two person (Judah played by youtube star Kyo Quijano and Rocky portrayed by Cinemalaya's Fuccbois lead actor Royce Cabrera) finding love and eventually themselves in this time of pandemic.
So far, as to what I have seen, I got nothing bad to say about the latest episode. Other than, yes, NAKAKABITIN. But maybe, it's Ride or Die's way for audience to get hook and really clamor for more. I like how Judah's overly achiever attitude complements Rocky's street-smart and hardworking character. And although, both have strong personalities, the episode has been kind enough to gradually show their vulnerabilities. Kuha pa rin ako ng seryeng ito sa pagtalakay ng generation gap at tuluyang pagtanggap ng lipunan sa LGBT community. Glenn played by Dead Kids star Jan Silverio was also properly introduced for me. In fairness, madali ko siyang natanggap as someone that I know will spice things up between the two leads. Hats off! I'll throw my red roses for the actors of this show. Sinabi ko na ito sa nauna ko nang review about the series, but nakakatuwa at nakakangiti pa ring makapanood ng mga bagong artistang gumagawa pa lang ng pangalan sa industriya pero magaling na. Best part of it is alam mong may igagaling pa. Kyo's performance was just standout so far. Natural na natural lang. If only all of our artists here in the country can naturally portray in our series and films, we'll have a much brighter future for Philippine entertainment industry. Royce was also equally talented. That's given for a gawad urian 2020 best actor nominee. And of course, eye candy rin si LJ Moreno and the trending lola, the multi-awarded actress Gina Pareño. I'd also like to commend the editor, youtube and spoken word artist Beverly Cumla for the editing. Sana mas marami pang makapansin sa talent mo. From what I've seen in their trailer, I'm excited to see how the story will unfold and also educate the audience. More power Quaranthings The Series!
