Gaya Sa Pelikula: Episode 2

It's Thursday.

A BL fan like me would know how exciting it is to wait for Fridays to come. Parang mga batang sabik na sabik sa regalo tuwing pasko. 'Cause really, Fridays are gifts. Well, aside from it's the last day of work week and finally a lot of us can now take their much-awaited relaxed weekend, we can watch our fave series and on top of that is this---Gaya Sa Pelikula.

I should be doing this last Friday pa dapat, but I've been overwhelmed with a lot of responsibilities. Anyway, I shouldn't miss the week not blogging about what happened to the series' second episode.

So, here it is.

First, IT'S FREAKING AWESOME.

I know, again, I'm looking like I'm over reacting but really, it's just plain brilliant. It's just more than 20 minutes but it got the "umph" and excitement we all need for an episode. Jampacked is an understatement sa sobrang puno niya ng mga kailangan naming manonood para manatiling nanonood. It's not overwhelming though but it's the kind of "full" we usually appreciate. You know, the kind that makes you say "thank you Lord" after a great buffet. It's like that!

Hindi ko puwedeng palampasin ang ganda ng pagkakasulat ng seryeng ito.

I really love how "human" and how it's breaking stigmas and norms. I'm living for the "Gay. Bakla. Bayot. Bading. Just say it. It needs no euphemism. It's not an insult". 'Cause hell yeah! It is not! But though, I love how it's well interpreted, I somehow grasp the message of how people shouldn't be asking this question anyway. Like, how often do you ask straight people if they are really straight? Like, nakakita ka ng random na lalaki o babae, do you ask them if "hey lalaki ka ba?" "Babae ka ba?". I doubt.

The chemistry of the leads. It's marinating. Like, parang habang tumatagal mas nagiging effective sila for me. Mas kinikilig ako over time. They're really great that I'm wishing that somehow the actors could end up in real life (uwu! #PangPangNation).

Directing and cinematography wise? On point lahat ng bagay. I'm no film student or film professional (but I hope I could be someday! Uwu! Karl Almasen ka ghorl? JP Habac ka ghorl?), but I love that it's really paying homage for classic rom-com films in the country. Well, who wouldn't notice the iconic "kumot" scene from "One More Chance"? I also saw from Direk JP Habac's tweets that the dinner scene with Vlad and Karl paid homage for the classic 1990s hit rom-com movie "May Minamahal".

Ang tanging problema ko lang siguro sa buong episode ay ang pag-aalog ng kawali ni Karl sa nasusunog niya nang itlog na para bang pancake ito. waaaaa

From what I heard, it's also an 8-episode series. We're now down with 6 more. Yes, anim na lang. I just pray that it'll keep the momentum going.

Busog na busog na ako sa unang dalawang episode but for some reasons, I'm still craving for more. Marami pa akong gustong makita. Marami pa akong gustong talakayin at pag-usapan.

Kaya naman guys, bukas, sama-sama ulit tayong tumutok sa "Gaya Sa Pelikula".
