"Kapag may itinuro sa'yo ang pag-iisa, yakapin mo."

It took me a week to finally write this! I honestly don't know why but I'm certain that this episode hurt me really bad that it took me a while to get over it. I mean, it hurt me in the best way possible (Masochista ka ghorl?!).
This episode is a bit longer than the others and it suits just fine.
This is by far the most complete episode GSP ever had.
It has the right amount of everything.
Gusto mo ng kilig? Inis? Lungkot? Sakit? Saya? This episode got it all covered.
I like that as the story progresses, the material keeps getting so much better. It's giving chills and goosies! The characters are blossoming as the story goes. Little by little, we're seeing buds and parts of each character unfolding.
Now, that's when we get to the "human" part of the project.
Slowly, we get to peel of layers of Karl and Vlad.
I like that from his tough persona, we get to meet the "soft boi" Vlad that he really is. I also love the idea of how Karl is inch by inch, letting his guard down to appreciate and understand Vlad's presence.
And I also have to give this one to the #Chiska or "Chismosang Kapitbahay"--Anna! With her comic relief, we get to appreciate more the dynamics of the relationship between Vlad and Karl. Her character was on point! Yesh Burce really channeled that angry yet passionate artist that she is to give justice for Anna.
And who else is feeling the swag and sultriness of Sue! I mean, if she's not one of your standards of a "best friend", I don't know what is.
The cast is perfect.
Having seen the project so far, I wouldn't want any other artists for the respective roles in GSP other than those who are already playing it now. They are all great! Their nuisances, their adlibs, their passion, and their hearts---you can really see all of it and it's piercing through the audience.
And of course, I wouldn't miss this opportunity to again applaud how the script was written.
Maybe it's because I'm also a writer, and I'm low key gushing over the process of GSP's conceptualization and conception. This is--again--a hats off for the genius himself--Juan Miguel Severo.
Often times, people would ask me why "Gaya Sa Pelikula" is great. At paulit-ulit, lagi kong sinasabi na this isn't like the usual kilig-vibed projects we get to see on TV and big screens. Yes, the idea is to really tell the people that "gay love" is just like any other heteronormative love story but this one, it got some depth and weight. It's giving us the opportunity to appreciate and further understand what is really happening now in the status quo.
It's stirring the pot. It's giving us a platform to discuss things out and assess, where are we now? Where do we stand?
Ano na ba ang nangyayari?
Is our humanity still intact?
These questions are amplified by how great the team behind the project is.
Hence, I'd also like to give a nod to the people in charge of production design. For some audience like me who loves watching and taking in messages from these kinds of art with a grain of salt, we get to observe small details in the production like props, settings, and even wardrobes. Unlike some other TV dramas that we've seen, so far, GSP is consistent and well-executed.
Still, I'm excited.
There are 4 more episodes left, and I can't wait how this flower will graciously blossom right before our eyes.
And even after this project is over, I'm still excited!
Like hell yeah! This one deserves a season 2!
